On April 18, 2022, Business School held the first Young Scholars Forum on Academic Reports of Accounting and Finance. We werehonored to invite Professor Zeng Xiaoliang, a PhDSupervisor from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University to deliver an online academic lecture themed on CSR Reporting Research Framework for our teachers and students from Department of Accounting and Department of Finance of the Business School.
The lecture was hosted by Professor Mao Xinshu, dean of the Graduate School and the Business School of Beijing Technology and Business University (BTBU). He introduced the academic background of Professor Zeng Xiaoliang and extended a warm welcome to him. Around 220 teachers and students from the Business School, including associate dean Zhang Weihua, head Zhang Chenyu and head Peng Hongxing, attended the online lecture.
Based on the abundant classical research literature of CSR and the research framework of CSR, Professor Zeng made his lecture go from the easy to the difficult and complicated. He made the decisive factor, impacts and external and internal impacts of CSR intricately entwined as a logical chain, explored the potential scientific research topics on CSR and further extended the latest research finding of his team, that is, Voluntary Corporate Social Responsibility Disclosure and Stakeholder Litigation. The finding testifies the potential challenges and costs of identifying CSR based on large samples while it is of considerable referential importance to disclose CSR information for enterprise decision makers.
As one of the academic activities of Accounting and Finance subject, the academic meeting plays a vital role in helping our teachers and students to choose meaningful academic topics, promoting the publication of high-quality findings of Accounting and Finance subjects.
