Lecture on Professional Competence of Accountants in the Context of Globalization and Digitalization

On the afternoon of 21 June, the MPAcc Center held the fourth lecture of the MPAcc Academic Series, which was hosted by Liu Ting, Executive Director of the center. The speaker, Dr. Chen Yi, is a Senior Consultant of PwC, DTT, KPMG, and EY. The topic of the lecture is “Professional Competence of Accountants in the Context of Globalization and Digitalization”.

Combining his own experience, Dr. Chen Yi demonstrated the unprecedented impact of the information society on people’s careers and lives. He pointed out that accountants’ work has changed and they needed to find existential value. That is, work that can’t be replaced by machines and artificial intelligence: assurance and advise. Dr. Chen Yi provided students with an innovative, informative and lively presentation that enabled them to develop a deeper understanding of accounting and their career plans.
